Dave’s Experience

Dave has served in many different capacities in church ministry including as a church elder, bible study teacher, and as part of the set-up and sound crew. He has worked a combined sixteen years in full time missions in Mississippi, Honduras, and Puerto Rico. Dave has also served in short term missions as a counselor and trainer to missionaries in Kenya and as a member of Samaritan’s Purse’s Disaster Assistance Relief Team in Ukraine. Dave has worked in many high stress and high conflict ministry environments where he has developed a heart for ministry marriages and families.

Interests and Specialties: 

Dave desires to support individuals, couples, families, and those working in Christian ministry, through pastoral counseling, to be more fruitful, more resilient, remain committed to their calling, and draw closer to Christ. Dave and his wife, Marinajo, who is also a counselor with BetterDays, are available to counsel together as a couple with other couples and their families as well as to counsel in Spanish.

His interests and specialties in counseling lie in strengthening marriages and family relations; blended families; sexual addiction, recovery, and families of addicts; missions calling, training, and resilience; team dynamics, leadership, and communication; child safety and abuse; biblical conflict resolution, organizational and leadership consulting and training.

Personal 

Dave lives in Kingwood, TX with his wife, Marinajo. They have been married since 1990 and have two grown children living in the Nashville area. Dave’s widely varied background includes being a firefighter/EMT, working in sales, being a partner in an I.T. firm, working in construction and physical plant management, and living/serving in missions overseas. He is passionate about reading and loves being outdoors. He especially loves to read and study Paul’s writings and the Psalms.
